This Autumn, twelve of the 2023 high school graduates from Cornerstone Preparatory Academy began studying at universities in Kenya and in the US! To have seen these students grow into young adults and play a small part in their story as they begin this next stage of life is extremely humbling. We are so proud of their hard work and determination to reach their goals and continue their education. When high schoolers from Naomi's Village and the surrounding community graduate from Cornerstone Preparatory Academy, we continue to support them as they begin further education or vocational training. Over the next few years, more and more students will be graduating from CPA and moving on to trade schools and universities.

In previous updates and posts we have spoken about John, one of the first Cornerstone students to come from the wider community, who is now studying at Kenyatta university. This short video tells his story:

Catherine is another student from Cornerstone Preparatory Academy who has recently graduated from St. Paul’s University in Limuru, earning a Certificate in Communication—a major accomplishment in a country where educational opportunities can be limited, especially for girls in rural areas. She will continue at St. Paul’s for an additional two years to complete her Diploma in Community Development, with a goal of making a lasting impact on her community and beyond. Catherine is currently preparing to start an internship at a children’s home in Limuru, where she will gain hands-on experience in community work—putting her education into practice while helping to care for and nurture the next generation. She is passionate about creating positive change, particularly for the vulnerable and less fortunate. It is hard to put into words how proud we are of Catherine. She is proof that with hard work, dedication, and the right support, dreams can become a reality—even in the face of adversity. We are filled with joy as we celebrate the incredible achievements of Catherine, a bright and determined young woman whose journey is nothing short of inspiring.

A great education opens doors, it equips and empowers people and provides access to opportunities. We are well aware of the difference education can make in creating pathways out of poverty and we long to see children educated, equipped and empowered. Revelation 21:5 reminds us, "And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new." To see that play out first hand and play a part in these stories of redemption is an incredible privilege. Students have now all completed their national exams and we pray that, like John and Catherine, this is just the beginning of their story.

Thank you for joining in and partnering with us, we know that none of this would be possible without your friendship and support. We thank God for you and for standing with us as we say your Kingdom come, your will be done, in the Great Rift Valley, as in Heaven.
