After the many challenges and difficulties of the last few months we were grateful to be able to visit friends and family in the UK over Christmas. We left Kenya at the end of November and have spent the past month catching up with old friends and spending precious time with family. With the current spike in COVID cases and the Omicron variant wreaking havoc, it has been unfortunate timing and sadly we have not been able to see as many people as we would have liked. It just means that when we next visit we will have to go big- so get ready for that!
In 1 Corinthians, St Paul talks about the church being one body but made of many parts. Our understanding of that passage has developed over the last year and we want to take a moment to acknowledge and say how thankful we are for each of you who partner with us. Just as there are many parts of the body, each with a different role, so it is with us; we all have a different role to play in bringing about the Kingdom of God and sharing the love of Christ. The role that you play in standing with us allows us to be in Kenya and we would not be able to do it without your prayers, encouragement and financial support. Thank you for partnering with us to educate, equip and empower orphans and vulnerable children. 2021 has been a year to remember for Naomi's Village. In the past 12 months alone, the ministry has provided:
Education to 380 students
130,000 meals for needy community families
Farm projects that supply both jobs and food
A new system that delivers spring water to 30,000 community members
Empowering care for 16 young mothers through our MTOTO Program
There is still so much to do and we look forward to heading back to Kenya on the 2nd January. After the last few weeks we feel rested, refreshed and ready to return.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the UK!
