Over the last month we have travelled across America. We have been in 3 different time zones, visited 7 states and shared about Naomi's Village more than 20 times. We did also manage to squeeze in some truly memorable moments too. Highlights include a couple of days in New York City and being able to go and visit the Grand Canyon whilst visiting a church in Arizona. We realise how fortunate we are to be able to do this as a family. It has been a privilege to share about the redemptive work God is doing in the Great Rift Valley at Naomi's Village. To be able to tell so many people about children like John, one of the first children from the community to join Cornerstone. He is now at Kenyatta University in Nairobi studying for a Diploma and plans to go on to do his bachelors. We recently received news of his first semester results and were delighted to discover he scored 3 A's and 2 B's.

It really does take a village to raise a child and we're so grateful to all of those that support Naomi's Village and partner with us as a family as we seek to educate, equip and empower children to break the chains of generational poverty and write their own story. In 1 Corinthians 12:27 Paul says, "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” We are aware that we only play a small part and we are incredibly grateful to have so many of you stand with us as we partner together to bring God's kingdom to the Great Rift Valley.

We are very much looking forward to going back to Kenya at the end of this week to continue to serve vulnerable children and orphans. You may be aware of the current rain affecting East Africa. The rains have caused devastating flood damage across Kenya and over the weekend we received news that a huge drainage tunnel up above Old Kijabe Town was blocked, leading to a massive accumulation of water and forming a deep pocket of water uphill behind an earthen dam. Rains continued and the water burst the dam and crashed through the community adjacent to Naomi's Village in the early hours of Monday morning. Naomi's Village is okay and the children are safe but Maai Mahiu is a disaster and all power is out in the town. Many houses have been washed completely away. People, including children, are missing and unaccounted for. Lots of staff and families we work with have been affected. The BBC have reported the events here.

We know that none of this would be possible without your friendship and support. We thank God for you and for partnering with us as we say your Kingdom come, your will be done, in the Great Rift Valley, as in Heaven.
